Hale Ola Pet Hospital is proud to offer expert cardiology to pets in need. Our Cardiologist, Dr. Nishimura, is the only Board-Certified Veterinary Cardiologist in the island of Oahu, and is trained to diagnose and effectively manage heart failure. At Hale Ola, we always treat you as family, and when it comes to your pet’s heart health, we comprehensively evaluate your pet, explain the best treatment options, and take the time to answer all of your questions.

We believe in collaborative care, where Dr. Nishimura partners with your other care providers to provide the best possible medical advice and therapy. Together, we can focus on each pet’s needs, identify the most helpful tests, and employ the most advanced procedures.

About Our Practitioner:

Dr. Nishimura

Dr. Nishimura is the only Board-Certified Veterinary Cardiologist in the island of Oahu. Dr. Nishimura was born and raised in Osaka, Japan. After graduating from high school, she moved to Canada and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Atlantic Veterinary College. She pursued further training in small animal medical and surgical rotating internship at Veterinary Emergency Clinic in Toronto. Dr. Nishimura then completed her three-year residency program in Veterinary Cardiology at the University of California, Davis. She was awarded the Best Resident Award by the UC Davis students in 2016 and 2017.

Before founding Hawaii Veterinary Cardiac Care, Dr. Nishimura practiced as a Veterinary Cardiologist in a specialty veterinary hospital in Honolulu and worked as a locum Cardiologist for the University of Guelph the University of California, Davis. Dr. Nishimura is also a De Facto member of Asian College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (AiCVIM) and presents numerous continuing education lectures in Japan.

Dr. Nishimura enjoys going out to parks with her family, traveling, and gardening in her free time. Dr. Nishimura and her husband are proud parents of one boy, three cats and four chickens, and they also enjoy watching many birds, lizards and insects in their backyard.
