Piyalak Timbang, DVM, CVA CVCH
Dr. Piyalak Timbang was raised in Bangkok, Thailand. She graduated from Chulalongkorn University, the top veterinary university in Thailand. For three years, she was a small animal practitioner before adventure called her and her family to the United States.
Dr. Timbang completed the Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates (ECFVG) certification program in December 2013. Holistic and alternative medicine, especially Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine, has interested her for many years. In 2015, she received a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA) and a Certified Veterinary Chinese Herbalist (CVCH) from the Chi Institute in Reddick, Florida in 2020.
Dr. Timbang worked as a licensed DVM in California for two years before moving to O’ahu in 2017, where she was an associate veterinarian. With hard work and diligence, Dr. Timbang has opened her own practice, Hale Ola Pet Hospital. Her dream and vision are to provide compassionate, comprehensive, and tailored veterinary care for the pets in our community.
Kendra Antonides, DVM
Dr. Antonides grew up in Toronto, Canada, where she developed a love for animals helping her grandfather on his pig farm, working at pet hospitals, and volunteering with wildlife in India and Africa.
After receiving her Doctor in Veterinary Medicine degree from Washington State University in 2018, Dr. Antonides practiced at a pet hospital in Tacoma, Washington, where she met her kama’aina husband. In 2021 they decided to move back to O’ahu to be closer to his family in Pearl City.
Dr. Antonides is especially interested in surgery, helping clients understand how to keep their pets healthy and happy, and tackling complex medical cases.
Outside of work, Dr. Antonides paddles with an outrigger canoe team and enjoys swimming, dancing, hiking, painting, and exploring local restaurants and parks. She has a fluffy tuxedo cat named Nanook, who enjoys walking on a leash and watching birds and geckos from his window.
Dr. Antonides’ calm and gentle character will be there for your furry family at every life stage and she looks forward to getting to know you and your animals better with every visit.
Jerrisa Ching, DVM, MPH
Dr. Jerrisa Ching was born and raised in O'ahu, Hawaii where she grew up with many dogs, guinea pigs, chinchillas, turtles, and chickens. She developed a passion for veterinary medicine after completing a high school senior project in animal-assisted therapy.
After Dr. Ching completed her Doctor in Veterinary Medicine degree at Washington State University and her online Master of Public Health degree at the University of Missouri - Columbia in 2021, she moved back to O'ahu to work at another small animal general practice and joined Hale Ola Pet Hospital in December 2022. Dr. Ching's interests include preventive care, infectious diseases (especially parasitology), internal medicine, and oncology.
Outside of work, Dr. Ching enjoys yoga, barre, drinking tea, writing, spending time with her fiance, and cuddling with her two guinea pigs, Maxime and Daisy.
Dr. Ching's goal is to provide the best veterinary care for animals in O'ahu with meaningful conversations and resources. She looks forward to meeting you, your pets, and 'ohana.
Jenelle was born in California to a military family. When she was young, they moved to Alabama, where she grew up in southern roots. In the summer of 2021, she moved to O'ahu after her husband received his first duty station at Schofield Barracks.
Before moving to Hawaii, Jenelle worked as an Emergency Medical Dispatcher for an ambulance and life flight agency. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her son, learning about new cultures, relaxing at the beach, and exploring scenic views throughout the island. Jenelle also has two pets, and plans to finish attending college for a degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
Kali was born on the south side of Chicago. She started working in veterinary hospitals when she was 16 and decided to pursue education in animal sciences, business, and biology. Kali received a D1 athletic and academic scholarships to Kansas State University where she rode on their Equestrian Team and worked full time in a clinic and part time as a zookeepers assistant. Kali has 4 fur babies: Lynyrd, Wingnut, Ivy, and Mochi. She enjoys being outside hiking with her dogs and enjoying the sunshine!
Jona Mae Malpaya
Jona was born and raised in the Philippines. She first came in the United States when she was 16 years old and lived in Virginia for 10 years. In 2015, she took a leap of faith and moved in with her now fiancé to build their own family here in Hawaii. She graduated from Windward Community College Veterinary Program and became a registered veterinary technician in 2021.
Kiarah was born and raised on O'ahu, Hawai'i. She moved to California to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and completed that program in June of 2021. Currently, she is pursuing a degree and license in Veterinary Technology at Windward Community College. Outside of work, Kiarah loves spending time with her pets, eating poke bowls on the beach, and relaxing at home with a book.
Chelsey was born and raised in Oahu. From growing up with dogs, turtles, mice, guinea pigs, and fish throughout her childhood, she gained a growing passion for an array of species. In 2016, Chelsey joined the veterinary field at a Specialty hospital. During her seven-year journey at the Specialty hospital, she trained in dentistry and general practice surgery. She also completed her first year in the Veterinary Technician program at Windward Community College in 2017 and received her Bachelor's Degree in Business Marketing at the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2020. In her free time, she enjoys relaxing at the beach, going to the gym, and spending quality time with her husband, two vivacious Pomeranians, high-spirited Labrador/Husky, and two affectionate cats.
